Monday, November 15 (E9)

Today's Objective: Students will begin reading Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird."

Today's SAT Word: Assuage (v.): to lessen the load or ease the pain.

"After the Redskins lost the game, Coach Shanahan attempted to assuage his players."

Today's Soundtrack: "Mockingbird" by James Taylor and Carole King

We have chosen this song today because it continues in our theme of songs whose titles relate to the innocence and childlike charm of the bird for which Harper Lee's story is named.

Today's Warm-Up Questionnaire:

What is a major character?
What is a minor character?
What is a protagonist?
What is an antagonist?
