Ray Bradburn may have been saying that technology is used so much that no one reads books anymore. In the story Mr. Mead tells the police car that he used too be a writer. After explaing that to the police car he told him that magazines and books didnt sell anymore. Mr. Mead said that the houses were like tombs and that the people inside were ill-lit by televisions, meaning that people were not reading anything , but was recieving information from their television. Many people were not learning anything for themselves , they just watched it all on tv. Mr. Mead really didnt have a profession because everyone was so into computers and their televisions.
    ( ps: i typed it MYSELF . )

  2. I feel as though Mr. Mead had a strong disliking for the way technology was used in the future. Because everything was computer operated, there was no reason for anyone to buy his books. He told the officer he USED to be a writer. I believe he stopped writing because nobody had a reason to purchase what he wrote, because everything was so technologically advanced. People never really had a reason to leave their homes, because they could learn everything by sitting at home on the coumputer or the news. There were no newspapers or magazines, for the simple fact that people just didn't read them anymore.

  3. Mr.mead don't like technology.Mr.mead has a house and electricity and still decide to walk. Mr.mead is probably old because most of older adults these days do not get technology. Mr.mead was a writter and to me he probably not used to modern day technology like others.he might think that technology is a waste of time.

Mr.Mead was basically saying that people depend on technology to much and that the future doesn't look good.People weren't out walking and playing because their sitting in the house watching TV and playing video games. The police laughed and thought that Mr.mead was crazy when he said he used to be a writer because books basically don't exist anymore .People don't even care about books anymore they have everything they need on their kindles & the Internet.Mr.Mead thinks that you should enjoy life outside of technology an thats what he did an they thought he was crazy.

To me in this story i think Mr.Mead was referring to technology as a source, that all people on this earth need. The reason ehy its important is because technology is what makes the world go around and function right. Without technology this world would be where it is at now.

to me in this story i think the pedestrian Mr. mead was referring to technology as a main source that all living people on this earth need. The reason why technology is a main source is because its what make the world go around and function the right way. We have come a long way with it and without technology the world wouldn't be where it is today

  7. Ray bradburn was saying that basically technology is taking over the world.many people in this world use technology for there needs.people depend more On technology than doing things for themselves. In the story mr.mead was saying that everybody is sitting around using technology , instead of going out and to get fresh air . also in the story mr.mead got arrested for just taking a walk.the police officer thought he was crazy , because he was the only one not in the house using technology like every one else .

  8. Ray Bradburay is trying to say technology isn't always important. It won't help solve life's problems. But, technology can help make life easier and can be useful if needed. I feel if Ray had a cellular device and a car; He would have been able to drive around and use a cellphone in order to call for help and family. Ray might have felt technology is as important as everyone exaggerate it to be and is showing he can live without it.

  9. Mr Mead Was Saying That People Sit An Depend On Technology When They Need Something An Don't Take The Time Out To Figure It Out For Themselves. Also He Was Saying That People Don't Like To Read No More They Just Use Technology. Also The Police Officer Thought He Was Crazy Because He Didn't Sit In The House An Use Technolgy All Day Like Others He Walked Around.also Mr Mead Was Saying The Reason Why People Use Technology All The Time Is Because They Illerate. In Coclusion This Is What I Think Mr Mead Was Saying.

Ray Bradbury might have been saying that technology in his time is different then it is than are time. In ray's time technology could cause you to get arrested. I believed that in rays time you a required to use technology. You can not come outside late for a walk. And you must always have technology on you.

Ray Bradbury may have been saying that technology is being used so much that people barley buy books anymore. Mr.Mead used to be a writing and thats why he stopped because no one was buying his books.People used Cell-Phones,computers,and television for information, so they wont have to refer to books for anything. I think thats the reason Mr.Mead walks at night in the quiet because he really dont have anything to do. Since people dont buy books anymore.

  12. Ray Bradybury was probably saying that technology has consumed everyone to the point that no one really comes out their houses for fresh air anymore. They just sit in their houses all day and watch TV and get on the computer. Technology was even used when Mr. Mead was stopped by the police car, because there was no one in it but yet it was moving and a voice was coming from it. Mr. Mead also explains to the cop car that he was once a writer, but magazines and books don't sell anymore so he is out of a job. This tells you people use technology for everything, even to read a simple book.

  13. Ray Bradybury is trying to tell us that now days people are on technology more.Nobody really have time or feel like going outside to buy a book. Everything is used by technology people are starting to get lazy now.Mr Mead was saying that we all on the technology now we are not getting out the house. I think Mr.Mead is just upset because the officer thought he was crazy no one was buying his books

  14. Ray bradybury was that technology is basically controllig us. In the story mr. mead said that the in every house people watched tv instead of readind it in a newspaper. While mr. mead was walkin by he called the people who were in their houses channel like 4,5,7,9. Technology was used through out the story just like the police car stopped Mr. mead and when he got in the car, no one was in the car as he excepted. the message is that technology is kinda controlling us and keeping us from our own live or even pushing us to take away our own lives.

In this story Ray Bradybury is telling us that technology is being more and more advanced. Mr.Mead explains to us that he use to be a writer .Technology developed and reading became useless. Everything a person could read, you can get it from the television quicker. Living in the future Ray Bradybury is showing us how technology can destory us.

  16. ihink that the author ray bradybury is saying that technology is basically changed everything .Like for example people dint read books any more or nothing like that.and that people dont even do the traditional things that they used to do because all they wanna do is use technology. And i think that the police officer stopped the man because he expected him to be inside using technology but mead was just outside taking a stroll .and the police man thought that he was mental in the brain or something.and that was just so crazy to me.like people dont even walk around anymore ,the streets are empty and everyones in the house using technology.

  17. In the story Ray Bradybury explains how much we use technology more than any thing else.Such as things that could be read in a magzine we now watch it on television.Instead of reading the news paper you can easily turn to channel:4,5,7,and 9 to find out the things that are happening in daily life.We as people use facbook, twitter, and myspace to chat with friends and family that are long distance. To justifi and quote technology is one of the most used functions in todays world.

  18. In this story I think the author wanted us to know that technology is what keeps us working.I say this because using technology is the main thing people rely on the most in this world.Technology is the key. I think the author wants us to know that technology is getting even more upgraded and people need to be aware of that. Because it could be a good thing. And it can also mean a bad thing.
