What does it mean to be "free?" What does "freedom" mean to you, and what sacrifices do you make or would you be willing to make in order to live in a "free" society? Is "freedom" worth it?

ReplyDeleteTo be free means being able to do certain things without being told you can or cannot. To me freedom means not being controlled by someone else. I would sacrifice everything just to be free. Some of those sacrifices would be giving up my shoes, clothes, phone, laptop, ipod, ect. Yes freedom is worth it , I would do anything just to be free. But I hope that day never comes where I have too sacrifice everything including my life.

Being free to me, means that you can express your individuality without suffering consequences for not believing the same as everyone else. I believe freedom is worth sacrifice. If it means that much to you, you'd be willing to sacrifice just about, if not, anything for it. I would sacrifice alot for my freedom. That's how much it means to me.

I would sacrifice anything, if necessary, to have freedom. Yes, i believe freedom is worth a sacrifice. If it is that important to you why wouldn't you give anything for it?

It also means to have equal rights and have as much as the next poerson as long as you work hard for what you have.

ReplyDeleteTo be free means to be able to do things on your own terms and not be told to do it. When you have Freedom you also have responsibilities and rights that you have to take action for. To have freedom is not all you think it is.You still have to follow rules and take action in your own responsibilities which mean you can be free in your own terms.You do not have Freedom in every place you have rules and laws you have to obey.

ReplyDeleteThe meaning of freedom to me is being able to do what you want to do. I understand that there are rules that need to be followed. However, having the freedom to go to bed when I get tired and wake up when I’m well rested is just a part of doing what I want to do. People who are in jail don’t have the freedom to do anything. They can’t make any decisions for themselves someone else does it for them. So, I value my freedom to do what I want to do and I want to be always be free to make my own decisions.

ReplyDeleteBeing free is not being under the control or in the power of another. Having freedom is having a world of possibilities. I would sacifice my life to be in a free society. Freedom is worth it but, it has it's consequences. For example in Africa if you steal you will get your hand cut off but crime is very low. In the U.S you might go to jail. In D.C there's more stealing and crimes because the consequences aren't tough enough . If I had to choose staying in the U.S would be my choice .
